Dauis Church—officially known as the Our Lady of the Assumption Church—is one of Bohol’s most beautiful and historically rich religious landmarks.  Built in 1697 by priests of the Jesuit Order and in 1753, the church reflects classic colonial architecture and enduring faith.  The interiors are adorned with intricate frescoes, creating a serene and artistic atmosphere rarely seen in provincial churches.  One of its most unique features is a freshwater well located inside the church—believed by locals to have healing properties.  Just a short distance from the sea, the church offers a quiet and reflective environment away from crowds.

Nova Shell Museum in Panglao showcases one of the Philippines’ most fascinating private collections of seashells that come from different parts of the world, not just in the seas of the Philippines.  Founded by a marine enthusiast, the museum highlights the incredible diversity of marine life.

Hinagdanan Cave in Dauis is a karst cave which means it is made of limestones.  Boasting several stalactite and stalagmite formations parallel to each other and a fresh water lagoon that is about 10 to 12 meters deep.

Built in the late 1800s by Spanish missionaries, the church is noteworthy because of its twin antique confessionals carved with grape and dove patterns.

The Panglao Watchtower is a historic coral-stone tower located beside the St. Augustine Parish Church of Panglao. Built during the Spanish colonial era, it once served as a defensive lookout against pirate raids and other coastal threats—a common feature in Bohol’s seaside communities.  Unlike typical bell towers, this structure has a more fortified and cylindrical design, reflecting its dual purpose as both a watchtower and a place of refuge. Its thick limestone walls and elevated vantage point allowed locals to monitor approaching vessels and sound alarms when necessary. Built in 1851, the 5-storey hexagonal tower is reputedly the tallest of its kind in the Philippines.

How to find the host

A DOT-accredited tour guide wearing a DOT ID with a name badge or for those booking only with driver, the name of the driver will be provided by the tour operator at the latest 2 days before the day of tour.
